Family Band Takes Us Back In Time With Nostalgic AGT Audition

When this energetic and uber-talented family band takes us back in time with their nostalgic America’s Got Talent Audition, it’s impossible not to smile! The Curtis Family C-Notes from San Francisco, California sings “I Was Made To Love Her,” which was originally recorded way back in 1967 by Stevie Wonder. But, the fun in their performance is less about the song and more about their stage presence! AGT Judge Simon greets the group and comments on how fantastic they look. And, they do! All Curtis family members are dressed in bright colors, and none of their outfits match. Their eye-popping retro, hippie style is pure pleasure, and it seems like each family member is expressing themselves in their look. The C-Notes are led by Dad and Mom, Maestro and Nola Curtis. Kid members include Zahara, Nile, Isis, Kiki, and Phoenix, from oldest to youngest. Each Curtis kid plays multiple instruments and sings, and they have personality galore! Simon asks Zahara if all members of the family like the same type of music, and when Zahara responds, “Yes, sir,” Simon pretends to be a bit put out by the idea that his age requires a “sir.” Family members giggle and Zahara apologizes before Simon moves on to ask about the kids’ personalities. Phoenix loves space and names her siblings’ instruments after the planets. Then, Kiki asks if Simon will give her guitar a similar name. He quickly chooses “Moon,” and is then razzed by fellow judge Howie Mandel for coming up with a name that’s not particularly other-worldy. It’s all good fun between the C-Notes and the judges. When the performance begins, the Curtis Family does not disappoint! Isis gives the camera a peace sign and sets the beat for the song. Zahara, with braces and giant silver hoop earrings, sings first, and she is smiling ear-to-ear. Mama and Papa C jump in, and the family delivers a performance that is upbeat and joyful! Their smiles, gestures, dancing, and facial expressions prove they are having a great time. The judges do as well, jumping up and giving a standing ovation to The Curtis Family C-Notes. Host Terry Crews has the last word saying, “That’s what we need right now—a little family!” “(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)” 1 Timothy 3:5

UPS Driver Makes Special Delivery When Wife Goes Into Labor

There are few things more ironic than a UPS driver delivering a baby. In this video, a UPS driver makes a special delivery when his wife goes into labor. UPS driver Ryan Thompson, and his wife, Gayla Thompson, shared that the two of them went through quite an intense and wonderful experience! The couple was on the road just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. Ryan was driving Gayla to the hospital to deliver their baby, but the infant was not willing to wait. In this video, we hear live footage from the police call that likely saved this baby’s life. The operator talks Ryan through the delivery and asks if the cord is wrapped around the baby’s neck. Ryan responds yes. She coaches him by telling him to carefully pull the cord over the infant’s neck. Then, all of a sudden the baby begins to cry. This wonderful sound meant everything was going to be fine. Gayla says, “It just happened so fast, my body didn’t really have time to think about what was going on.” They two named their son Carson. The name split up is car - son. Ryan says, “I’ve delivered a lot of things, but never in my life would I have thought my child being one of them.” This inspiring video reminds us that even through the struggle of uncertainty, we have a God who is always with us. Even in scary moments when we feel unequipped to handle, we are never alone. Just like this police operator guided Ryan, the Holy Spirit helps us. "In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings." Romans 8:26

Pony And Dog Form An Unlikely Friendship

Whenever two different animals interact and befriend each other, it is always a peculiar and wondrous thing to see. In this adorable video, a pony and a dog form an unlikely friendship. In this clip, Emma Tytherleigh is just walking Rocko, her Shetland pony to be groomed like any other day, but Cowboy the dog decides to jump up for a ride. Cowboy is a trick-performing dog and Rocko is his noble steed. The two clearly have an understanding as buddies. The animals are seen running, jumping, and having fun together with their trainer Emma. I love how Cowboy just stands confidently on four legs on top of Rocko. It is an unusual and amazing sight. Emma gets the pony and the dog to lie down and sit up. They heel beside her walking. Then, the video ends with Cowboy running and spinning around while Rocko remains confidently in place. It is so intriguing seeing the sweet relationship between Emma and her animals. I love how the three of them have a special bond that is undeniable in this clip. God commanded us, in the beginning, to care for the animals. Emma has done an amazing job at living out this instruction and loving her pony and dog well. Whether it is feeding the birds, walking our dogs, or picking up trash so an animal does not eat it, we also have a responsibility in looking after God’s creatures. "Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Genesis 1:26

8 Synchronized Swimmers Step Up To The Side Of The Pool And Stun With Their 'Robot' Routine

There is something about unity that when expressed through swimming has a wow factor of what can be accomplished when people work together. In this video, 8 synchronized swimmers step up to the side of the pool and stun with their 'Robot' routine. The artistic swimming olympic games qualification tournament occurred this month. Team USA reveals a strong performance of athleticism, team work, and grace in this clip. These eight young women dive, twist, and move with such intentionality. Their routine is inspired by robots with precision and poise. The girls move their legs in sync, toss each other into the air in beautiful acrobatics, and appear to have fun while doing it. The choreographer who created this masterpiece is USA head coach, Andrea Fuentes. When you think about the difficulty of not only moving in unity, but also holding your breath underwater and hitting all of your cues with the music, these women are nothing short of fantastic. The announcer shared that these girls called themselves the “underdogs,” but they could “stand a chance of being in the top three.” As the church body, we are called to be in unity with one another just like this USA team. When we each bring something unique to the table and work in harmony together, the church functions as God intended it to in the first place. When we honor the giftings of others and cultivate our own, we can help each other accomplish great things for the Lord. “But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.” 1 Corinthians 12:18-20

16-Year-Old Nails 'Sound Of Silence' Cover During School Concert

There is always something entertaining about a young man with a great voice. In this video a 16-year-old nails the “Sound of Silence” cover during school. Ruben Liversage is a 16-year-old with the pipes of the next Scotty McCreery. At the beginning of the video you see a boy dressed in all white with smoke and lights. Out of his mouth comes a strong, deep, bass voice. From the side a boy and girl dance beautifully to his dark melody. Then the lights come up and reveal the boy in a white military uniform with a full choir behind him. The show choir dances and sings in a real complimentary way to Ruben. The entire performance is stunning and flows so naturally. There is a real melancholy intrigue within his performance. The song, “Sound of Silence” was originally produced in 1964. It was written by Simon and Garfunkel. According to SMF “‘The Sound of Silence’ is symbolic of people’s inabilities to effectively communicate with each other on an emotional level.” And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains, the sound of silence We all experience emotional hardships at times just like the expression of this song. However, we can pour our hearts out to our God who loves us just like Joseph, David, even Jesus, and many who have gone before us. Christians know that we will have hard times in this world. However, we can have the hope of Christ in our lives and victory through His resurrection. It is also such a gift to be able to express and share our feelings with others to learn that we are not alone. No matter what darkness you are going through, you are seen and loved by the Lord. You are more than this battle. He has overcome and given you that victory too. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

95-Year-Old Dick Van Dyke Shares His Secrets For Feeling Young

Is age just a number? Well, the spry and surprisingly flexible Dick Van Dyke seems to think so. He turned 95 in December and he is antsy to get back to living life the way it was pre-pandemic. Well-loved for his roles on classic TV shows and the beloved films Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dick has brought magic, fun, and a love for musicals over the years. But how can this 95-year-old still have a kick in his step and a twinkle in his eye? The scruffy white bearded and well-loved actor recently opened up about his secret to staying young! He showed off parts of his workout routine that he does every morning in his backyard. From sit ups to yoga—he says that a part of keeping himself young includes how he sees himself. He doesn’t view himself as an old man. Instead, Dick thinks of himself as an active actor and dancer. His line of thought is definitely a nod to Proverbs 23:7, “what a man thinks, so he becomes.” It’s also a reminder to take our thoughts captive! He also shared that staying young includes dancing. That’s right! Dick is five years short of being 100 years old and he still loves to dance! Dick shared his thoughts about the Mary Poppins reboot where he was filmed dressed in a three-piece tuxedo standing on top of a dining room table. In this scene, he kicks up his heels and dances to the beat as he shooed away other actors who were concerned he might fall. But he proved to his fellow actors and actresses on the set that he’s still got the moves! It just goes to show if we believe we are 30 years young or 95 years young, it does have an affect on our daily lives and our mindset. Even in our old age, we can still bear fruit—dancing, singing, mentoring, and imparting wisdom to the younger generation. Leave it to Dick to not only continue making films we love to but also remind us that age really is just a number. “They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green,” Psalms 92:14.

Protective Dog Saves Baby From Climbing The Steps

I just love watching an adorable animal video, don’t you? You’ll fall in love with this protective pup as it prevents a baby from climbing the steps. In this video, Lisa the great dane puppy of 5 months will not allow the 1-year-old baby to climb up the stairs. The family lives in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. As the adorable boy is standing at the bottom of the steps in the living room, the faithful pup comes to the rescue. Lisa pushes him downwards with her paw trying to keep him from climbing. The boy does not give up, so the great dane does not stop there. She then lays across the second step as a barricade. This dog means business and she is not going to allow the baby to climb up the stairs. After making a few efforts to outmaneuver his pet, eventually the baby sits down and turns to crawl in another direction. Lisa then gets off of the stairs and walks next to the boy as he moves elsewhere. It is absolutely the sweetest thing watching this dog protect and shield this baby from danger. Lisa knows that if that boy climbs up the stairs it could lead to injury. It is incredible to see an animal act so instinctively with a child. This puppy appears to love this baby and will do whatever it takes to keep him safe. This reminds me of how we unknowingly can try to head down paths that lead us to destruction. However, when we have the gift of the Holy Spirit, we have safety. He acts as a protector to us. He gives us warning and conviction, just like Lisa did for the baby boy in this video. We can rest in the fact that our God is our great Defender. "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one." 2 Thessalonians 3:3
