Alan Jackson Performs At Loretta Lynn's 87th Birthday Celebration

Country legend Alan Jackson serenades fellow superstar Loretta Lynn at her 87th birthday party. Loretta Lynn has been called the queen of country music. Her iconic songs have truly stood the test of time. In fact, Loretta has written every single song that she ever recorded. Writing was actually more important to her than singing and the fans responded in waves. She has been called a ‘trailblazer’ and a ‘powerful voice for women.’ Her unique style and heartfelt lyrics paved the way for other female voices. So, it’s no wonder that superstars from all areas of entertainment came out to celebrate her birthday. One of those performers is country great Alan Jackson. Loretta specifically requested that Alan perform at her birthday and asked that he sing his hit song ‘Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning).’ This song was released after the September 11th attack and it immediately resonated with hearts all over the nation. Even today, these lyrics hold so much weight and importance in the USA. ‘I'm just a singer of simple songs I'm not a real political man I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you The diff'rence in Iraq and Iran But I know Jesus and I talk to God And I remember this from when I was young Faith, hope, and love are some good things He gave us And the greatest is love’ You can see Loretta sitting front row during the entire performance. And afterwards, the whole theater stood for a rousing standing ovation. What an incredible birthday celebration.

Riley Thompson Sings Alan Jackson Hit On American Idol

American Idol contestant Riley Thompson sings an upbeat rendition of the Alan Jackson song, ‘It Must Be Love.’ This 16-year-old country singer impressed the judges right from the start. Her first audition was an original song titled ‘Oh Daddy’ and it won her a ticket straight to Hollywood. This teen showed maturity and poise throughout the entire process. Now, Riley is fighting for her spot in the Top 10 of the competition. After learning that viewers did not vote her through, Riley was given the chance to sing for the judges and live audience. At the end of all the second-chance performances, the judges will be able to save one contestant from elimination. Even though her confidence was slightly rattled, Riley walked out on stage and sung her heart out to the iconic Alan Jackson song, ‘It Must Be Love.’ “It must be love it must be love I fall like a sparrow and fly like a dove You must be the dream I've been dreamin' of Oh what a feelin' it must be love” Riley completely engaged the crowd with her unique country voice and the judges were thrilled with her song selection. After the performance, Luke Bryan said, “I love the song choice. It embodies what you've given us throughout this competition.” Even though Riley ultimately did not continue on to the next round, she was given many words of hope and praise for the judges. At just 16 years old, Riley has accomplished things that many only dream of. I definitely think this talented teen has a long career in entertainment ahead of her.

Crowd Sings 'Ave Maria' Outside Of Burning Notre Dame Cathedral

Mourners on the street sing a beautiful rendition of ‘Ave Maria’ in front of the Notre Dame cathedral. Hearts around the world broke on Monday, April 15th when the famed Notre Dame cathedral in France caught fire. The building was undergoing a renovation when a blaze spread to the widely famous dome of the cathedral. Shortly after, news spread all over the globe. The fire lasted well into the evening, burning for over 12 hours before firefighters gained control. During this time, people started to gather in front of Notre Dame to mourn the ancient structure. That’s when the most incredible impromptu serenade began. ‘Ave Maria’ is a widely popular song from famed composer Franz Schubert. It was originally composed in 1825, but over the years it has evolved into one of the most well known classical pieces. Artists from all over the world and many different genres have performed this special tune and it has easily become one of Schubert’s most famous compositions. ‘Ave Maria Gratia plena Maria, gratia plena Maria, gratia plena’ The hauntingly beautiful words are the perfect compliment to the feelings associated with this devastating fire. There are so many fond memories surrounding the Notre Dame cathedral and it’s deeply saddening to see parts of it in flames. While a rebuilding will occur, the entire process could take decades. Prayers are with the people of France and anyone with a special memory of this iconic monument. Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

96-Year-Old Granny Shows Off Moves On The Dance Floor

This 96-year-old Granny took the dance floor by storm at a recent wedding reception. Everyone was in awe when this elderly woman showed off her energetic dance moves. A lot of people think that when you reach a certain age it means you cannot participate in physical activities like you used to. That is the farthest thing from the truth and this grooving granny is proof. She doesn’t hesitate to step out onto the dance floor and move along with the crowd. And this lively woman has no problem keeping up with the younger generation. In fact, she’s spinning and twisting better than some of the other folks. She never misses a beat to the amazement of all of the guests. Who would have thought that sweet, little old Granny was going to school everyone at this wedding reception? This is just another example of why age really is just a state of mind. This 96-year-old is living proof that if we keep things moving and take care of our bodies, we too can be moving easily long after we reach ‘over the hill’ status. She is such an inspiration to everyone watching and definitely put a big smile on my face! I certainly hope that we continue to see this Granny dancing her heart out for years to come. Who else is praying that they have this much fun and energy when they are in their 90s? I know that I sure do! So let’s all keep moving and never stop having fun!

G0704 mini lathe tool post riser 5

In this video we are driving with a #7 carbide stub drill, chamfering with a 3/8" carbide changed mill and thread milling 1/4-20 holes with a single point 1/4" thread mill, all tools are from https://onlinecarbide.com/ which offers excellent tooling at an affordable price! We are performing the operations on the mini lathe cross slide to mount the new tool post riser!

This was a fun project to upgrade the tool post and compound of a little h harbor freight 7x10 mini lathe I snagged on Craig's list for $100. When purchased it was missing the change gear, reverse Chuck Jaws, tools and a few other minor components. However this was fine for my application because this little lathe is slated for a CNC conversion and some chassis upgrades to stiffen up the movements to cut small parts in stainless steel for business. Should be a great value for second operations that doesn't take up any more space than a tool box in the shop!

Follow along as the little projects come together to become a working machine! Hope you enjoyed this build!

God will not give up on you!

After we pray there is usually a waiting period before the manifestation takes place. It is during that waiting period that the enemy attacks with doubt. Such as, doubting God’s Word or God Himself especially when we mess things up. This video is a reminder of God’s awesome faithfulness to His children!! He simply will not fail His children!!

Kirk Franklin Spots Choir In The Audience And They All Start To Sing

Grammy award-winning gospel artist Kirk Franklin leads an impromptu worship session with the Bowie State Gospel Choir. Recently, Kirk was a guest on The Steve Harvey Show. During a commercial break, he spotted a gospel choir in the audience. In a completely unplanned moment, he invited the choir down to the stage. That’s when he performed along with the choir and they belted out the famous lyrics to ‘Melodies From Heaven.’ “Melodies from heaven Rain down on me, rain down on me Melodies from heaven Rain down on me, rain down on me Take me in your arms and hold me close Rain down on me, rain down on me” Kirk Franklin has been a staple in the Christian music scene for decades. Over the years, he gave up gospel hits such as ‘I Smile’ and ‘Looking For You.’ Recently, he collaborated with contemporary artist, Tori Kelly, for her first gospel album. Now, Kirk is spreading God’s message everywhere he goes, just like this performance on The Steve Harvey Show. He immediately has the crowd singing and clapping along. Even host Steve Harvey is singing this gospel favorite. The words remind us that God’s love and mercy reign down on us all. Even when we do not deserve it, God continues to remain by our side. Our God is great and He is so perfect in all of His ways. Kirk Franklin and the Bowie State Gospel Choir definitely took this audience to church. What do you think of this spontaneous worship?

'Freedom' Reba McEntire Patriotic Song Live Performance

Country music superstar Reba McEntire performs her rousing new song, ‘Freedom’ at the 54th ACM Awards. ‘Freedom’ is the lead single from Reba’s latest album, ‘Stronger Than The Truth.’ “That's why people fight for it, rise for it Burn up the night for it Cry for it, pine for it Cross rivers wide for it Once you've held the truth There's nothin' you won't do And when I look into your eyes I know why people died for it Freedom, loving you feels like freedom” Reba McEntire is one of the most well known voices in country music. Sine her rise to stardom in the 1970s, Reba has truly made a name for herself as a powerhouse vocal talent. Her latest album is a true testament of the struggles she has overcome and the strength she found within. ‘Freedom’ is the perfect song to kick off Reba’s new era. This powerful song holds dual meanings. Not only is ‘Freedom’ a patriotic album, but it’s also a story about a woman finding love. The ability for her fans to relate to the music is a big consideration for Reba. “I want everybody to be able to relate to these songs. That makes a very successful song and a very popular song, when they can relate to it, when they come back and say, "Oh my gosh, she wrote this song for me." Or, "That's my life story." Or, "Me and my best friend can relate to that." That's what makes a really good song.”

Laine Hardy Performs 'That's All Right' By Elvis Presley On American Idol

American Idol contestant Laine Hardy performs a unique rendition of the Elvis Presley classic, ‘That’s All Right.’ Laine is currently in the Top 14 of the popular singing competition. He auditioned last season, but was eliminated in the early rounds. Now, he’s back and better than ever as he vies for the coveted winner’s title. Tonight, this country guy is channeling his inner blues-rocker with this Elvis performance. “Well, that's all right, mama That's all right for you That's all right mama, just anyway you do Well, that's all right, that's all right That's all right now mama, anyway you do” As soon as Laine starts singing the iconic lyrics of ‘That’s All Right’ the crowd starts to clap along. With slicked back hair, he strums along on his guitar without missing a note. Even the judges were on their feet for this upbeat performance from the 18-year-old returnee. After the song, judge Katy Perry said, “You know your strengths and you’re playing them well. It’s so exciting to see you grow.” Each judge had words of praise for the young singer and encouraged him to let loose on the stage and have fun. He’s made it all the way to the Top 14, but Laine almost didn’t audition this year. After playing guitar for a childhood friend during her initial audition, the judges requested that Laine sing too. That’s when he earned his second ticket to Hollywood. Now, this entertaining performer is well on his way to beating out the rest of the competition. Only time will tell if Laine has what it takes, but I’m certainly looking forward to his next performance.

Paralyzed Secret Service Agent Inspired By Team Hoyt To Run Marathon

A paralyzed secret service agent and his supervisor will overcome the odds to run the Boston Marathon in 2019. Three years ago, Agent Garrett Fitzgerald was paralyzed in a car crash. While on duty, Garrett’s vehicle was struck by a driver who was high on heroin. When his supervisor, Don McGrail, received the news, he was devastated. "It was the worst accident involving our employees that I can think of in my 23 years," Don said. But since that time, Garrett never let pessimism get the best of him. Four days a week, he goes to physical therapy at Journey Forward. This incredible organization makes it their mission to help those with spinal cord injuries. The founder, Dan Cummings, knows firsthand the struggles it can be to receive adequate physical therapy. After a diving accident, Dan was left paralyzed and everyone said he would never walk again. When insurance ran out, Dan was forced to find other places to rehabilitate and, 19 years later, he’s walking on his own. Garrett and Don will be running the Boston Marathon to raise money for Journey Forward. They were inspired to run the race by the father and son duo of ‘Team Hoyt.’ For years, dad Dick ran marathons and triathlons while pushing his quadriplegic son, Rick, the entire way. Their story and determination captured the hearts of the world and they’ve inspired many to take on these seemingly impossible challenges. Like Team Hoyt, Don will push Garrett for 26.2 miles over the course of the marathon. What an incredible story!

Song of My Heart

My first original song called "Song of My Heart." It is a humble prayer put to words and music.

I begin each morning with prayer and scripture study. One morning during my quiet time, the Lord placed a song in my heart. I immediately grabbed a piece of blank paper and began to write down the words that started to flow freely. Not only was I given the words for the song through inspiration, but the Lord also placed the melody of the song in my heart, and in about 45 minutes, the rough draft of what is now “Song of My Heart” was created. The song is just as its title proclaims – the “Song of My Heart.” It is a prayer, my prayer – “Lord, lead me by thy mighty hand, guide me and show me the way” – put to words and music.

As I sit here and reflect upon my life’s journey thus far, I am forever reminded of the sweet grace and tender mercies of the Lord. He is the Captain of my ship and He has piloted this ship through some tumultuous storm-tossed seas. Without my hand in His, I know I’d surely fail. I would be living my life with no thought in mind, just a ship without a sail.
