In this creative audition on America’s Got Talent, one group from a theatre company does a life-size puppetry routine that shares an emotional story about a girl and a dog.
Lightwave Theatre Company is from Romania, and the group has big plans for their audition.
“What we want to transmit to the American people is to be there for one another, to be generous,” says Petro, one of the members of the Lightwave Theatre Company.
“We like to give people hope with the stories we are presenting on stage,” says Christina, another member of the group.
After the stage is set up for their performance, the lights go down and the music starts. The puppetry group is performing to the song ‘Carry You’ by Ruelle. At the start of it, a girl and a dog, both life-size puppets, appear on the stage.
The little girl goes outside of her house and starts playing with the dog in the street. Then a car with their headlights shining comes driving through and is heading right to where the girl is standing. The dog jumps to push the girl out of the car’s way, and he ends up getting hit by the car. At first, we don’t know if the dog made it, but then he starts to wag his tail, showing that he is ok.
“He’s alive!” says Sophia Vergara happily while she starts clapping.
“It’s got all the elements, fear, loneliness, love, laughter and happiness with a good ending and creative presence,”
comments one person on YouTube after watching the video. “Keep up the good work. Even if they don't get any further, they have been exposed on the largest stage to the largest audience on earth and have made their mark.”
“I didn't realize I was holding my breath until the dog moved,”
writes another person online. “The fact that we're happy and relieved a puppet didn't die is a testament to how special dogs are.”
What a creative audition performed by such a talented group of people!
