Inspiring blind veteran Robert Finley returns to the America’s Got Talent Stage with an original song titled ‘Starting To See.’
The world was in awe after Robert’s first audition on the big stage. He performed with an upbeat original tune and shared with the crowd that his love of music started at a very young age.
When he was 19, Robert served in the Vietnam War. After returning home, he started a family and worked as a carpenter to support them.
But throughout the years, he never lost his passion for music. About four years ago, while getting an eye exam, Robert discovered that he had glaucoma.
Now, he is almost completely blind in both eyes but that’s not stopping him from following his dream. His latest original song, ‘Starting To See,’ is all about realizing the blessings that are all around you.
“I may not ever see your face
But I can feel the love
In this place
Finally starting to see
What the Lord has given to me
I'm finally to see
What the Lord has been given to me
Thank you lord”
These lyrics are so powerful and there’s no doubt that the Lord is guiding Robert on his journey.
“This time I know I got it right
I'm goin' by faith, and not by sight
But I'm beginning to see the light
And deep down inside it feels alright”
Robert has certainly made a name for himself on America’s Got Talent and I have a feeling we’ll be seeing this name for a long time.
11-year-old violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa performs a chilling rendition of Lauren Daigle’s ‘You Say.’
We first met this talented young man when he auditioned for America’s Got Talent. The whole world melted when they heard his touching backstory and watched his incredible performance.
Tyler started to play the violin at age 7, after nearly losing his life to cancer. His treatments caused him to lose his hair and he immediately became a target for bullies. But music, and the violin, gave Tyler an outlet and he started to come out of his shell.
His performance of ‘Stronger’ from Kelly Clarkson led judge Simon Cowell to press the golden buzzer. What some people may not know is that Tyler is a Christian. He has performed many gospel covers, but this performance might be my absolute favorite.
“I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know”
‘You Say’ garnered worldwide attention and singer Lauren Daigle even won a 2019 Grammy Award for the powerful song. The poignant lyrics serve as a reminder that when we feel small, God can lift us to greater heights.
What a blessing to see this young man use his talents to give glory to the Lord. What a true inspiration and role model for so many around the world.
Talented 13-year-old Charlotte Summers returns to the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent with an impressive performance of ‘Diamonds Are Forever.’
We first met this powerhouse vocalist when she auditioned with the classic song ‘I Put A Spell On You.’ That’s when we learned that Charlotte has been performing since she was just five years old. And now, the Spanish singer is living out one of her biggest dreams by stepping onto the AGT stage.
You might remember that she earned a standing ovation from the judges and crowd during her first performance. Charlotte easily moved on to the next round. She sailed through the judge’s cuts, but as the competition winds down, this teen pulled out all the stops.
Just listen as she belts out the words to ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ from Shirley Bassey.
“I don't need love, for what good will love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me
For when love's gone, they'll lustre on
Diamonds are forever, forever, forever”
This famous song was featured on the soundtrack to the James Bond movie of the same name. Charlotte’s big voice lends itself perfectly to classic songs, such as this one.
The field of America’s Got Talent contenders was tough this round. Even though the 13-year-old was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the competition, her performance is certainly going to be remembered.
I have no doubt that we will be seeing a lot more of Charlotte Summers in the future. What was your favorite performance from this teen talent?
The heart of every boy longs for a man to care for them, love them, teach them. The long for their father. Tragically in todays world half of the boys go to bed at night without their dad in the house. Kids Outdoor Zone places men in their lives.
This is the story of my painting titled Hope. I painted while praying for all those affected by the flood devastating our area at the time. Like my other paintings, people see religious images and images that relate to their personal lives. The images are not intentionally painted by me. I am only an instrument guided by the Lord's Love and Grace. In It includes original music.
This officer decided to add a little fun to his final radio call and it’s got everyone smiling.
Officer Cory Barrows has been with the Decatur Police Department for 30 years. After an incredible career, the time has come for Officer Barrows to retire.
When a police officer ends their shift, they are required to radio in to dispatch the time and their status. When someone retires, they make one final radio call and it is almost always an emotional moment.
Officer Barrows decided to make this a happy occasion full of laughter and joy. Just watch as he sits in his police cruiser and radios in for the last time. When the dispatcher thanks him for his many years of service, this police officer busts out into some talented dance moves.
As the song ‘Footloose’ plays in the background, Officer Barrows jumps out of the car and starts to cut loose. I definitely was not expecting to see anything quite this energetic during the officer’s final radio call. I am sure this brought a smile to so many faces around the department.
With a sense of humor like this, I can tell that Officer Barrows was a great co-worker that will surely be missed by many. It is never easy to move on, but Officer Barrows can rest easy knowing that he did a job well done.
We all thank you for your service over the years and hope you enjoy your retirement as much as we enjoyed this video!
One man is thanking his guardian angel after a frightening lightning strike almost took his life.
Romulus McNeill works as a guidance counselor in Horry County, South Carolina. He was at the school when a security camera caught a terrifying scene.
Romulus was walking to his car during a terrible storm when a bolt of lightning struck just inches from where he stood. The force was so great that it knocked the umbrella he was clutching right out of Romulus’ hand. T
he video then shows the man rushing to shelter and safety. It was a moment that shook the man right to his core. But after calming down, he realized that something beyond his control kept him out of harm’s way.
Romulus told reporters, “It felt like something did hit me. Something did touch me and I think an angel touched me for sure.” There’s no doubt that God was watching over this man during the storm.
If he were just a few inches over, the lightning would have hit his body. And Romulus is beyond blessed to be standing here today, thanks to his guardian angel.
Even one weather caster from New York said that Romulus narrowly escaped a tragic scene. He warns, “The number one thing you want to do is if you hear lightning, you see lightning, you get inside.”
Romulus isn’t taking any more chances with severe storms. He said, “If I see any lightning, no matter where I am, I’m gonna spend the night there. I've learned my lesson.”
11-year-old violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa returns to the America’s Got Talent stage with an energetic performance of ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ from Swedish House Mafia.
The whole world fell in love with Tyler after his moving audition. We learned that Tyler started to play the violin at age 7, after nearly losing his life to cancer.
His treatments caused him to lose his hair and become a target for bullies. But music, and the violin, gave Tyler an outlet and he started to come out of his shell.
His performance of ‘Stronger’ from Kelly Clarkson led judge Simon Cowell to press the golden buzzer, sending Tyler straight through to the live shows. Now, this inspiring young man is back with another violin cover that has the whole crowd cheering.
From the moment the music starts, Tyler is all smiles as he takes over the stage. Just listen as he plays the violin to this popular dance hit.
“Up on the hill across the blue lake
That's where I had my first heart break
I still remember how it all changed
My father said
Don't you worry, don't you worry child
See Heaven's got a plan for you
Don't you worry, don't you worry now, yeah”
What a blessing to see that Tyler is now healthy and using his musical talents to bring joy to others. This young man is a true inspiration and I hope that we see more of his music in the future. What do you think of this teen violinist?
The talented woman of Celtic Woman perform a live rendition of the beloved classic ‘Over The Rainbow.’
This special song was made famous by Judy Garland in the 1939 film ‘Wizard Of Oz.’ Since that time, this tune has been covered by countless artists and cemented its place in history as one of the best, and most beautiful, songs of all time.
“Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true”
This incredible all-female group comes from the creators of Riverdance. Over the years, Celtic Woman has introduced millions to the sounds of Ireland and, in the process, become a global phenomenon.
Their pure tones and hauntingly beautiful harmonies put them in a league all their own. Today, they are at the Johnstown Castle in Wexford, Ireland for a very special performance of ‘Over The Rainbow.’ Just listen as they belt out these iconic lyrics.
“Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me”
Time after time, Celtic Woman impresses us with their brilliant vocal performances. And hearing these two women put their heart and soul into singing ‘Over The Rainbow’ might be one of their best performances yet.
What about you? What is your favorite Celtic Woman song?
Talented 15-year-old Sophie Pecora returns to the America’s Got Talent stage with another inspiring performance that leaves one judge in tears.
Since her very first audition, this rising star continues to bring her very best. She blew us away with her original song, ‘7th Grade.’
Before her first performance, Sophie shared with the judges that she experienced many instances of bullying and alienation. This feeling inspired her to write the audition song. She easily earned rave reviews from the judges.
After her second performance, guest judge Brad Paisley was moved to press his golden buzzer for the young singer. Now, this singer-songwriter is in the quarterfinals of the competition and she’s not holding back.
Over the past few months, Sophie has experienced so many emotions. She used these feelings to write ‘Happy In LA.’
“If you're not happy where you are you won't be happy in LA
If you are the world’s biggest star it don’t mean you won’t make mistakes
If you're not happy in you're car you wont be happy in a mustang
Things do not change who you are you are human you need space”
She may be a teenager, but it’s obvious that Sophie understands the world in ways many cannot. She knows that happiness comes from inside and not your Earthly possessions.
“Stay where you are make the best of it
you never know when it could change don’t question it
So many options you erased when you left with it
You were born where you are who you are for a reason”
