One 70-year-old grandpa nails this opera rendition of ‘Nessun Dorma’ during a karaoke session. This famous song is featured in the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot. Over the years, it has become a notable opera staple spurning covers from countless artists in all different genres of music. But it wasn’t until Luciano Pavarotti's 1972 recording of the song that it became a pop culture phenomenon. ‘Nessun Dorma’ also became a common tune used during sports events such as European football and soccer. Translated to English, the lyrics go like this: “None shall sleep! None shall sleep! Not even you, oh Princess, in your cold bedroom, watching the stars that tremble with love and with hope!” This opera tune is not an easy song to sing. But when this grandpa decides to try his hand at karaoke, he had no problem belting out these iconic lyrics. Just watch as he sits in the living room surrounded by family and friends with the microphone in hand. Grandpa hits those high notes flawlessly and never misses a beat. In fact, he’s making it look downright easy. And when he gets to that big ending, I was in complete awe over this karaoke performance. I don’t know about you, but I definitely was not expecting that bold opera voice to come out of this elderly man. This just goes to show that you should never judge a book by the cover. A young man with autism received a heartwarming gesture from his fellow classmates at their recent graduation ceremony. 21-year-old Jack Higgins has severe autism. Loud noises, that may not bother others, greatly affect Jack. When it came time for his high school graduation, his parents wanted Jack to walk across the stage but they feared that the cheers and applause may be too much for Jack to handle. There would be nearly 3000 people in attendance and there was no way to shield Jack from the noise. Jack’s mother explained to Today, “He has a lot of sensory issues, noise being one of them. It almost seems as if it hurts.” That’s when the parents went to the principal at Camel High School and told them their desire to watch their son celebrate his achievements. Principal Lou Riolo and a few other staff members came up with the plan to hold a silent graduation. Before Jack’s named would be announced, Principal Riolo would address the crowd and explain the situation. As showcased in the moving video, the entire arena was silent as Jack walked across the stage and received his diploma. It was truly a heartwarming moment for everyone in attendance. Principal Riolo was not surprised by the reaction. He said, “I know this community. People will step up. You got to give them a chance to step up.” It’s such a blessing to see so many people come together to give this young man the moment to celebrate his hard work.

It was a frightening moment captured on camera when this police officer saves a baby who suddenly stopped breathing. When you are a police officer, your days are anything but predictable. When you start a shift, you never quite know what your workday is going to be like. And every officer knows that some days can be far more emotional than others. Deputy W. Kimbro came face to face with this reality during a recent routine traffic stop. Deputy Kimbro works for the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina. While on patrol, he noticed a speeding vehicle and pulled the car over. The officer was taken aback when someone came running out the car saying that a baby had stopped breathing. Body camera footage shows Deputy Kimbro running up to the mother holding her 12-day-old baby in the passenger seat. The baby stopped breathing after drinking a bottle and her mother could not get her to respond. Deputy Kimbro didn’t waste any time starting life-saving techniques and making sure that the baby was not choking. For nearly four minutes, this quick-thinking deputy talked to the newborn and made sure that she remained alert until paramedics arrived. The baby, named Riley, was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. I’m so glad that this officer was able to help baby Riley in her time of need. Our heroes in blue are truly amazing and we cannot thank them enough for what they do each and every single day.

The talented a cappella men of Vocal Point perform an incredible rendition of ‘Circle Of Life’ from Disney's 'The Lion King.' This iconic movie is making its way back into movie theaters with a new look to the same beloved story. The Walt Disney Pictures film was originally released in 1994 through traditional animation. With updated technology, the production of this film has gone through a photorealistic computer animated makeover and it is sure to make for an unforgettable experience that the entire family will be able to enjoy. In honor of this new movie, Vocal Point is belting out the words to the most famous song from the film, ‘Circle Of Life.’ This iconic song became a standout hit after accompanying the 1994 animated movie release. The song was composed by Elton John and the lyrics were written by Tim Rice. It quickly climbed the Billboard charts and still remains a beloved favorite today. “It's the circle of life And it moves us all Through despair and hope Through faith and love Till we find our place On the path unwinding In the circle The circle of life” Today, this song is coming to life in an entirely new way. The a cappella men of Vocal Point always perform the most beautiful songs and this particular performance is no different. From the stunning backdrops to the talented vocals, this cover of ‘Circle Of Life’ is one that you don’t want to miss. The all-female ensemble of Celtic Woman perform a beautiful live rendition of ‘Moorlough Shore.’ This chilling tune is featured on their 2018 album ‘Ancient Lands.’ This all-female group comes from the creators of Riverdance. Over the years, Celtic Woman has introduced millions to the sounds of Ireland and, in the process, become a global phenomenon. Their pure tones and hauntingly beautiful harmonies put them in a league all their own. Today, they are at the Johnstown Castle in Wexford, Ireland for a very special performance. Just listen as they belt out the words to ‘Moorlough Shore.’ “Your hills and dales and flowery vales that lie near the Moorlough Shore Your vines that blow by Borden's grove, may I never see you more” Eabha McMahon stands out as the soloist for this song and she truly showcases the passion and sorrow from this song. When speaking about the song, Eabha said that enjoyed this particular tune because it was traditional and she felt very comfortable performing it, especially in Ireland. “Well, if my Irish lad is lost, he's the one I do adore And seven long years I'll wait for him by the banks of the Moorlough shore And seven long years I'll wait for him by the banks of the Moorlough shore” Hearing ‘Moorlough Shore’ truly reminds us of the talent and vocal skills from Celtic Woman. Each performance takes so much time and practice to perfect, but they execute each one flawlessly. This is another great performance from these inspiring women.

It quickly became a worldwide phenomenon and climbed to the top of the Christian Billboard charts. The poignant lyrics resonated with the entire world and ‘You Say’ became popular in both the Christian and secular music scene. In just a few short months, there have been countless covers and interpretations, each one reiterating the words that our God loves us no matter what. “You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing You say I am strong when I think I am weak And You say I am held when I am falling short And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours And I believe, oh I believe What You say of me Oh, I believe” Today, Alejandro Manzano of Boyce Avenue is giving this special song an acoustic makeover. The talented ensemble of the Westminster Chorus performs an incredible barbershop-style medley of songs from The Greatest Showman. The film was released in 2017 and starred Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams. It told the story behind P.T. Barnum and how this showman created the Barnum & Bailey Circus. The music featured in the film because an instant classic. Today, the Westminster Chorus is singing and dancing to two of the popular songs, ‘Come Alive’ and ‘Now On.’ “From now on These eyes will not be blinded by the lights From now on What's waited till tomorrow starts tonight Tonight Let this promise in me start Like an anthem in my heart From now on From now on” Members of the Westminster Chorus truly come alive as they dance all across the stage to this show tune medley. This upbeat performance made an impression at the Barbershop Harmony Society's 2019 International Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. Just listen as they belt out these powerful lyrics from The Greatest Showman. “Come alive, come alive Go and ride your light Let it burn so bright Reaching up To the sky And it's open wide You're electrified” There’s no doubt that these men have a gift for performing. And the passion and joy on their faces during this medley is apparent. Even though this type of performance takes a lot of time and practice, Westminster Chorus pulled it off flawlessly. I hope we can look forward to more barbershop medleys like this in the future.

Former American Idol contestant Genavieve Linkowski sings a beautiful cover of ‘New Wine’ from Hillsong Worship. Hillsong Worship has been making music for the Lord since 1983. At first, they only performed at their home church, in Sydney, Australia. But as their music popularity grew, the group decided to share their talents with the world. Their first album was released in 1988 and, since that time, Hillsong has become a name synonymous with Christian worship anthems. “Make me Your vessel Make me an offering Make me whatever You want me to be I came here with nothing But all You have given me Jesus, bring new wine out of me” ‘New Wine’ is a very special song for Genavieve. Earlier this year, the former Idol contender lost her sister after a car accident. The tragedy has made Genavieve and her family members rely on God more than ever. On her YouTube page, the singer said, “This song is extra special to me after what I've been going through with the loss of my sister. It's a reminder that God is not wasting my pain, but that He's using it to make me more into His image. I hope that this is encouraging to you, whether you're going through something hard or not. God never wastes, but works all things for good to those who love Him.” Just like making wine, the Lord will crush and press and make us new again. Even in times of grief or sorrow, He is breaking new ground and we are the vessels.

Over the years, Celtic Woman has introduced millions to the sounds of Ireland and become a global favorite. From stunning original songs to beautiful covers, these women truly shine at everything they do. ‘Faith’s Song’ is another example of the range of talent showcased in Celtic Woman. The song tells the story of a woman who is heartbroken over a failed relationship. Despite the sadness, she is choosing to remain positive and look at all the hope and possibilities that surround her. “That I gave my heart whole, I did I gave my heart And although it's broken It is still beating.” The lead vocalist of this performance, Megan Walsh spoke about the significance of the song saying, “Although this song is incredibly heartbreaking, there is definitely that underlying message of hope. And even though you may be going through a hard time, you’re hearts still beating and you’re still breathing and things will get better.” These words are so true and no matter what obstacle you face, you can get through anything.
