https://www.ChurchOfGodTemple.org - Today's lesson "Never Be Too Busy For What Really Matters", comes from Psalms 63:1-4 "O God, you are my God. At dawn I search for you. My soul thirsts for you. My body longs for you in a dry, parched land where there is no water. So I look for you in the holy place to see your power and your glory. My lips will praise you because your mercy is better than life itself. So I will thank you as long as I live. I will lift up my hands to pray in your name.
Nowadays when you ask most people how they are doing, the answer often is "busy, busy, busy".
David remind us to always take time out for those things that really matter in life such as seeking the face of God everyday. It's tempting to wake up early, rush through the day, fall into bed exhausted and drift off to sleep, and miss the day's opportunity to spend time in the presence of the Lord. We must not be like the busy executive where life needs to strike us a hard blow before we refocus on those things that really matter.
Your health matters; your family matters; your ministry matters, but most of all, your relationship with Almighty God matters. Never be too busy for what really matters.
https://www.ChurchOfGodTemple.org - Today's lesson "Keep The Spirit Of A Finisher" comes from 2 Timothy 4:7 which says, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith". KJV
Today, this is great advice for you and me - we must learn to complete what we start; because even in running a race, no matter how strong you are, no matter how fast you are, no matter how smart you are, it only counts when you cross the finish line.
Some things in our lives take longer to complete than others, but we must not lose our faith. If things happen to blow you off course, take time to reset your priorities and begin moving in the direction of your completed goals and dreams again.
You can reach the completion of anything that you have set before you - it only requires that you never give up and you persist until you get to your destination.
Today's lesson "God's Word Will Stand Forever" comes from "Matthew 24:25" in which Jesus said, Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Imagine that in the beginning of time that there was nothing, yet, The Word of God was there in the midst of nothingness. The passage says that one day, there will be nothing left, yet The Word of God, will still be there. Since the Word of God is that powerful that time cannot erase it or history cannot change it, shouldn't you and I be relying on The Word to sustain our lives?
The Word is powerful. In the beginning God spoke the Word and everything came into existence by the power of God's Word. This same power is alive and well today and the power of the Word will never fail or fade.
The Word of God is no just some words written on a piece of paper, no, the Word of God is a person, the person of Jesus Christ himself. In the gospel of St. John chapter 1, the writer said that "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we saw the glory of the only begotten Son of The Father".
Suffering: What’s the point of it? Who’s to blame for it? Why does God allow it? How can I avoid it? How can I get free? Why is it so hard to get free? Those last three questions anyone can ask. The first three require faith. That makes it thorny.
It has been long-believed by many that substance abuse is due to a chemical "hook" that snares the addict physically. Four facts put the lie to this cultural myth and clear the way for the truth to bring true and lasting liberation.
Ironically, each Christian's "faith" is founded upon facts, not faith. God is able to reveal two truths so convincingly, that these become the bedrock facts for building an entirely accurate world view.
Emotions can power us up or drag us down--if we don't know how to ride herd over them. The great thing about Emotional Intelligence is that it can be learned. Here's how...

Nehemiah declared that “the joy of the Lord” is our strength—and he was right! With this joy flowing in us, we positively glow and grow. So, if you lose it, don’t be passive, fight to get it back. Here's how.
What causes disease? It would help to know wouldn’t it? Because then we would have a fighting chance to avoid it the next time. These surprising answers will take you through the mind-body connection to Biblical truth long neglected.
