This video jam titled "Sifted as Wheat" comes from a sermon preached by Reverend Dr. Vincent G. Artese "Sifted as Wheat".
Christ’s followers are faced with trials, just as He was. But they continue to live out their faith in God through the trials. The disciples of Jesus are promised entry into the Kingdom of Heaven if they continue in their own trials with Him. Jesus speaks to Peter before His arrest, trial, and crucifixion and assures him in the midst of the terrible trial that was at hand. Jesus tells Peter that he will be sifted as wheat in the trial ahead. As Satan had asked God to try Job he is also going to try the disciples. Judas had already been tempted and the Devil had won him. But God alone sets the boundaries and sets a limit to the extent of the sifting that takes place in the life of a believer. Jesus prays for Peter that his faith would not fail. The sifting of Peter is the same sifting that all Christians go through as an ongoing process until all desires, passions, appetites, and emotions are converted and changed to be like Christ. The souls of mankind are influenced by the natural, satanically, and spiritually as they go through this sifting process. Peter and Judas were sifted as wheat. Peter continued to persevere by faith in Christ, but Judas decided to return his own way and betray the Lord completely. A beautiful song that Sarah Schieber co-wrote along with Jeremy Johnson and Paul Marino. From her beautiful album "The Long October Road." Pretty simple lyrics, all about devotion to God and willngness to serve.
I heard a wonderful song on the radio the other day called "Christmas In Heaen." It was by a snger I had never neard of, Sarah Schieber. Lovely song. This video is not for that song, though (do a YouTube search and find the official video for that song; it's very touching.)
So, after hearing Sarah sing "Christmas In Heaven" I did a little more digging. Her story is amazing. In October 2007, when she was 31, she and her husband Chad were running in the Chicago Marathon. Chad collapsed during the race and died. Several months later she recorded a CD called "The Long October Road", mostly a commeration to Chad. Here's a video I made for the title song. Thank you Sarah, and thank you Chad for your service during your too-short life.
I normally superimpose the lyrics on my videos, just for effect. I chose not to do so for this one for some reason. I didn't find it necessary and thought it would be a distraction.
The closing cut from Dara Maclean's album "Wanted." What a beautiful way to end an album. Dara co-wrote the song along with Paul Mabury and Paul Duncan. Yeah, I realize that the lyrics apply equally as well to guys, but I chose to use exclusively images of women in this video. It just felt like a woman song.
In this New Year's Edition of the "Very Special" series, kids talk about their resolutions, dreams, God's desire to change us, and why we should never give up. Their precious thoughts will bring laughter, encouragement, and inspiration to your church as you look to the New Year.
It’s easy to feel like our life is a mess. It can be easy to lose hope…but change has come. Remember that Jesus overcame the world and he wants to make something beautiful out of our lives! He wants to make your life His Masterpiece. This video is great for New Year's.
A victim mentality affects all of us to some degree. It creeps into our thinking unawares. That's why it is so insidious. And while we are easily critical of other people who just give in to health challenges without a fight, we often overlook our own laziness in resisting sickness and disease.
The lazy person claims, ‘“There's a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!'“ Proverbs 22:13 (NLT)
To live with sickness and disease is to admit that the pursuit of God's standard of healthy living—through God's methods—is just too risky to pursue.
And we all have our lions, which will keep us from our future if we don't deal with them.
