Prayer that we should learn

Have you ever looked around yourself in despair?
Have you viewed a situation that seemed far beyond your reach?
You knew the odds were stacked against you and throwing the towel in you said I am just one person, irrelevant, unimportant, insignificant?
But what if………you had swallowed a lie.
What if instead of looking at the mountain you were just determined to take the first step.
What if instead of looking at the darkness you were determined to be a light.
What if you took the hand you had been dealt in life and no matter how crappy, you made the decision to go all in?
To be an encourager in the work place.
To be a smile, a laugh, a hug to those in sadness.
To be a hand reached out to the one who has fallen.
To say, I AM, I am, I am, one person who will make a difference.

This video quotes a scripture that comes right after the one that most people remember. John 3:17 is a great verse that explains what Christ did for us.

From their debut album "We Are The Monks", this is the song "Rise", written by Trent Monk, with his wife Shellie joining him. You may not recognize the name Trent Monk, but you may recognize the name Monk & Neagle, a popular Christian duo from a few years ago. Remember "Dancing With The Angels"? That was them. They eventually went their separate ways, then Trent met Shellie and they were married, and a new musical duo was formed.

I'm on the listening board for Worship Leader magazine and I heard this song as a candidate for SongDiscovery CD Volume 117 (July/August). Of course I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. It's a refreshing departure from a lot of the stuff in Christian music these days that all sounds the same to me. This is catchy, upbeat, and makes you want to rise and lift your praises to the Lord.
