Leadership Without Love is Evil

When you lead based on love, you don't care about yourself. But when you don't lead based on love, you only care for yourself and not others that you are trying to help. Anytime you take the lead of leadership you have to take a role of Love. We all have capacity to lead.
Those that lead without love are dictators. When you lead with love, you lead with God. Anytime you are in a leadership role and leading with Love, you will be attacked for showing that type of leadership.
All of us have roles of leadership. You cannot show love without having the love of God. God's love goes beyond your relationship.
If you don't have God's Holy Spirit you will not be able to love the way you will have to love in leadership.

Martin Luther King, Jr.
I've Been to the Mountaintop

delivered 3 April 1968, Mason Temple (Church of God in Christ Headquarters), Memphis, Tennessee

"Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!"

"And so I'm happy, tonight.
I'm not worried about anything.
I'm not fearing any man!
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord!!"

Romans 13:1-6

The Parable of the 10 Virgins

As we look at drawing closer to God and allowing our hearts to become ablaze with His love, we must prepare ourselves to be made holy and conduits of His Fire.

Be prepared for action

How's Your Hearing

Sermon Series: Hearing God's Voice

"Surreal Experiences," Rev. R. Scott MacLaren

Sometimes the distinction between the "real" and the "surreal" is but a sliver, and it takes a keen eye to discern between the two. The early church experienced amazing works of deliverance, and sometimes they seemed like they were living in a dream. In our modern day, we might be content to say these things were just a "dream" or a myth, but then we would be missing their real truth. Watch as Pastor MacLaren speaks from Acts 12 to First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, Pennsylvania on August 10, 2014. First Church is a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The Rev. R. Scott MacLaren is the pastor.
