Applications 1. We need to stop comparing ourselves to other people in order to measure our level of righteousness. 2. If we have committed our life to Christ, then we must never lose sight of our need for God’s grace and mercy. 3. The humble entreat God in prayer for help with their daily needs and cares. 4. Since the temptation to be prideful is constantly before us, we need to continually seek a lifestyle of humility. 5. Ask yourself: do I humbly tremble in reverence at God’s commands or do I ignore them and think they don’t apply? 6. The humble seek the enrichment and fulfillment found in spending time in the Scriptures. The prideful prioritize other things over scriptural meditation. 7. The humble admit they aren’t perfect and refuse to hold others to a standard of perfection. 8. Confession is a godly discipline exhibited by the humble.

As Jesus taught about the Kingdom of God, He told a parable about a master who entrusted a large sum of money to his servants. After doing so, he went away into a far country. The bulk of this parable has to do with when the master came back and called his servants to give an account for how they had managed and increased his wealth. This parable speaks volumes about the Judgment Day each of us will experience as we stand for Jesus one day.
