God is a consuming fire. He desires to destroy evil in the lives of his children. He wants to confirm his covenant with them, and he wants them prepared to dwell in his presence. When the fire falls, God himself comes into the situation and burns everything that is not of him.

Please note the similarity of the effect noted at the 3:22 minute mark, for traveling at the speed of light, with the 'light at the end of the tunnel' effect noted in many Near Death Experiences.
The NDE and the Tunnel - Kevin Williams' research conclusions
Excerpt: I saw a pinpoint of light in the distance. The black mass around me began to take on more of the shape of a tunnel, and I felt myself traveling through it at an even greater speed, rushing toward the light. I was instinctively attracted to it, although again, I felt that others might not. As I approached it, I noticed the figure of a man standing in it, with the light radiating all around him. Daily Pulse: John 18:10-11 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant's name was Malchus.)
Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?”
I made my high school students summarize in just one sentence who is God to them. It was pretty hard to be that concise, seeing as teens have got a LOT to say. But they did it.
Up till now, if you wanted to leave the Mob, you had only two options....
1) the witness protection program,

However, it seems that Michael Franzese has found another way.
Jesus performed miracles. But he didn't perform miracles because he was God, but as a man. Everything Jesus did, he did as a man--a man of faith. To believe in Jesus is also to believe in our own authority to do what he did. All authority in heaven and on earth was given to him, and he gave it to those of us who believe. We just need the faith to use it.
