Teen Vocalist Sings 'Stand In The Light' In New York City

A talented teen vocalist sings ‘Stand in the Light’ in New York City, and there’s a reason his video is going viral. The song was originally written and sung by the 9th season winner on The Voice, by Jordan Smith. He explained the deep meaning behind the song is about taking a risk to stand in the light of day and be truly seen for who we are. It’s so easy to wear masks, to cover up, to play the part, or pretend but we honor and glorify God when we choose to be who God created us to be. But someone else fell in love with the song too, teen vocalist, Lyza Bull. This is who I am inside This is who I am, I'm not going to hide 'Cause the greatest risk we'll ever take is by far To stand in the light and be seen as we are Is it any wonder that Lyza Bull is taking the world by storm with her own version of Jordan’s song? With over 122,000 subscribers, she is quickly rising through the ranks of fame with her talent and love for Jesus. However, this song is going viral with over 318,000 views and counting! This video opens with Lyza singing perfectly, “Stand in the light and be seen for who we are.” The video is shot all throughout New York City and encompasses with the lyrics and meaning of this beautiful song. Lyza is a 13-year-old soprano and has even performed with the world renown One Voice Children’s Choir under the direction of Masa Fukuda. She has loved to sing since she could even talk. During the 2015 Christmas season, she was featured in Vocal Point’s “One Single Bell” video as a soloist, and in 2016, she participated in the TV special “Christmas Under the Stars.” Go ahead, push play and be inspired to be who you are! Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2

Jon Bon Jovi Wears Disguise And Surprises Fans At A Karaoke Bar

What’s worse than trying to sing a karaoke version of “Livin’ on a Prayer?” when you don’t have the vocal chops to hit the notes? Singing off key only to learn Jon Bon Jovi himself was dressed in disguise and standing next to you the whole time. Jon Bon Jovi wore a disguise and surprised fans at a staged karaoke bar in partnership with Omaze for a fundraiser. Dressed in a fake beard, glasses, and a cowboy hat, he jokes before going undercover that he looks like the lead from the Zac Brown Band. Everyone is blissfully unaware that the singer is there until he begins to sing and remove bits and pieces of his disguise. As you'd imagine, once he pulled off his undercover getup and surprised everyone, the groups of fans went wild, singing along to "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "It's My Life” while Jon was on the stage. Some even asked for a photo or two. In the video, unassuming singers enjoy the atmosphere and the music as their bumbling server seems to be awful at his job but seems to have good vocals. Jon attempts to take orders and get beverages to the table but once one of his songs begins to play, this clumsy server critiques his patrons as they are singing. He even jokes that the beard is real as he pulls off his getup, but everyone knows it’s not. He certainly brought joy and laughter to all of these unsuspecting patrons. At one point in the evening, one of the women commented, “I knew you were too clumsy to work here!” To which Jon laughed because he’s a much better singer and entertainer than he is a server. It’s a good thing he’s got his day job. What would you do if Jon surprised you? Would you continue to sing with him or would you be too star struck? Then our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with shouts of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” Psalm 126:2

Happy Days Castmates Surprise Henry Winkler With Sweet Messages Before Awards Show

We loved him as the Fonz on “Happy Days” back in the day and now we love him as Gene on the HBO hit “Barry.” But seeing his Happy Days’ castmates surprise Henry Winkler with sweet messages before the Golden Globes makes us realize just how beloved the star truly is. Standing with the host, she asks Henry how he is feeling about the awards event. “I feel honored. But, here’s the win, I’m on the show Barry and I got a free tuxedo. Brioni gave me a suit. They fit it to my body,” he humorously says. It’s a good thing he was a sharply dressed man because what happens next put a huge grin on his face. Ron Howard pops up on the screen to tell him, “I so wish I could be there...You’re so good in Barry, but you’re great in everything you do,” he said. Anson Williams surprises him next to congratulate him on his nomination with well wishes and a thumbs up before panning to Don Most in his living room who tells him, “Congratulations on your nomination. Make it two in a row.” Henry was more than happy to see his old castmates and was visibly humbled they would take the time to put together a quick video of encouragement in celebratory measures for all his hard work in acting over the years, especially in Happy Days. The American sitcom Happy Days first aired on January 15, 1974 and ended in September 1984 with a total of 255 episodes. Who knows, with so many reboots happening, perhaps the Fonz will make a comeback! Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 1 Thessalonians 12-13

Man's Marriage Proposal On A Boat Goes Viral For All The Wrong Reasons

Men often make special, memorable plans for their wedding proposals to their beloved, and they want everything to go just right. Sadly, that wasn’t the case here, where one man’s marriage proposal on a boat goes viral for all the wrong reasons. First we have to say it. Poor guy. The woman stands on her own boat, it’s red and white. The man approaches her from an adjacent boat, this one blue and white. They and the boats seem to complement one another. Seems like the perfect scene for love. Even the water beneath them, swaying naturally as it does makes the scene picturesque. The boats sway too, still, the man presses forward confidently. He traverses his boat, walking along its edge. Yes, the edge of the back of the boat. Bad idea. However unsecure he is on the boat, he is bent on proposing. And he does. The video captures him proposing to the lady. “Oh my God,” the woman says with happiness. They hug. Again, he is not secure where he stands. Not at all. In her excitement, she hits the throttle on her boat and off she goes. Unsurprisingly, he does too, right into the water. Splash! The woman is knocked back in her boat as she moves forward. The man haphazardly falls into the ocean. The rest of the footage turns into shaky cam as the person filming runs to their aid. For a quick glimpse we see three people standing side-by-side in shock, gasping at what just happened to the lovers. Embarrassing? Sure, but at least he got a ‘yes!’ This sweet couple has already seen firsthand how they’ll have to overcome the troubles life can throw at you, and they were only engaged for 2 seconds before their first test came their way! And at the very least, this proposal experience is memorable, something to share with the children and grandchildren, and all the children after that. P.S. Men, please don’t propose if your footing isn’t secure!

Young Man Brought To Tears After Receiving Life-Changing Gift

One young man was brought to tears after receiving a life-changing gift. To some extent we all take life for granted, having ready access to the Internet, having a job, waking up tomorrow morning. Not everyone lives such a fortunate life, but once they can, they feel a deeper joy than we could ever know. What was his gift? Being able to replace his bike for a car. No matter the weather, Jared used his bike to travel to work and volunteer. Also, Jared could not enroll in college courses because the closest college was a 45-minute drive away. A drive away. On a bike, he simply would not be able to regularly embark on a journey of that length. Not only that, Jared did not have a phone. He works with the TLC Community Center, delivering food to community members. He served despite the aforementioned disadvantages. Knowing his situation, his team members were understanding and patient, especially when they struggled to contact him. There is no public transportation in his rural area, meaning that without his bike he would have no other options. And with his bike he only had limited options. Jared’s car was a gift from an elderly man who lost his wife. This car was in their garage and he wanted it to be given away to someone else, someone of good character. Jared was that person. What was his response to the gift? An endless fall of joyful tears. “He sat and cried, honestly, for like thirty, thirty-five minutes,” said Angie Odom, a member of the TLC Community Center. This was before Jared even saw the car. Once he did, even more tears. He sat in the car with his mother embracing his new gift. God blessed Jared through the elderly gentleman. May God continue to bless Jared for being the type of person who volunteered despite his previous transportation and phone issues. Jared is a great reminder that when we serve the Lord, he will reward us. I don’t know about you, but this is hard to remember when the struggles of life seem to never pass me by. However, scripture says that God will provide. “Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm 37:4 God knows what we want, and he also knows what we need. We can rest assured he understands us better than we understand ourselves. Another key takeaway from Jared’s story is to not take life for granted. Our cars. Our phones. What happens when the things we value are taken away? Let’s give God the glory and make sure we are relying on him to provide more than anything we will ever own.

Inspiring 'Danny Boy' Performance From The United States Navy Band

This inspiring ‘Danny Boy’ performance from the United States Navy Band will swell your heart with emotion. Honoring members of the military has been a tradition in America for a very long time. We remember history through school lessons, museums, memorials. Another way to honor those who have served the country is through music. Such was the case with an inspiring ‘Danny Boy’ performance from the United States Navy Band. This song pays tribute to many Americans, including 5 Irish-American brothers, the Sullivans, who joined the Navy after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. As many people know, this was the start to America’s involvement in World War II. The brothers were George, Francis, Joseph, Albert, and Madison. The Sullivans began duty on the military ship USS Juneau on February 14 of 1942. About nine months later during the Battle of Guadalcanal, they along with their crew died. Their sacrifice was not in vain as the battle was ultimately a victory for America against Japan. Lyrics to the ballad were written by English lawyer Frederick Edward Weatherly in 1913. The song did not originate as an ode to fallen soldiers, but rather was inspired by another Irish tune, ‘Londonderry Air’. Frederick’s sister-in-law, Margaret Weatherly, shared the song with him. Since that time, Frederick’s song has become popular, especially among members of Irish origins. The melancholy lyrics of the song make it appropriate for funerals and definitely for honoring fallen soldiers. Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side. The summer's gone, and all the roses falling, It's you, it's you must go and I must bide The lyrics speak to losing a loved one and the acceptance of the sad separation. Those with spouses or other loved ones who were or are a part of the military will be touched by this song. There’s a lack of control, and much uncertainty to be experienced when going into war. No one knows their fate except for God, and that lack of knowing can be very difficult to accept, for those fighting and those at home. Though we are not currently in a time of war, death has been ever present in the face of the coronavirus. According to Worldometers, over 1 million people have died globally from the dreaded disease. The loss of any life is worthy of grief and mourning. However, there is hope. Almost 29 million people have recovered. And what we know as Christians, is that there is a life available for us after death too. We can take heart that God is with us in this life and the next. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

Prayer of Praise IV featuring music by Dan Forrest "LUX: The Dawn From on High"

61-Year-Old Dad Has Viral Dance-Off With Daughter During Quarantine

Everybody dance NOW! Cue the music. This 61-year-old dad has a viral dance-off with his daughter during quarantine, and it will definitely bring a smile to your face. Out in San Diego, California, Brittany Revell has been recording herself dancing alongside her father on the popular app, TikTok. The dynamic duo have been performing various dance trends and posting their videos, and the Internet has been going crazy over them. “She’s been so patient with me. Thank goodness for all those retakes” he says over video chat, sitting beside his daughter. They both laugh. “It really just started during quarantine at our house.” Brittany shared. “We were both spending a lot more time at home. One day I just went up to him, and I was like, ‘Hey you wanna do a dance challenge on TikTok?’ And of course, being the supportive father he is was like ‘Of course.’” When not dancing for TikTok, the 28-year-old works as a physical therapy doctor. Her father does not have prior dance experience, but you wouldn’t be able to tell from the videos. “He really picks it up fairly fast!” Brittany acknowledged. Their strategy: practice for an hour, break, allow their brains to process the movement, and then come back together and film. “To a lot of, maybe, dads out there that [are] a little apprehensive in not wanting to do it, I say ‘Go for it!’ You know you don’t have to be perfect,” her dad said. She added with a smile on her face, “We really never know what’s going to happen tomorrow, so let’s just spend as much time as we can together, positive time together.” She’s absolutely right. Jesus told us not to worry about tomorrow (Matthew 6:34). As I heard one pastor say, “Tomorrow is for God.” So what does that leave us, today. May God bless us and guide us in using our time to share love with Him and those around us. May we find many ways to spread joy to the world.

COVID Nurse Performs Original Song 'Everyday Heroes' On Britain's Got Talent

A COVID nurse performs an original song, ‘Everyday Heroes’ on Britain’s Got Talent, and you’ve got to hear this. When we think of nurses, we think of physical healing and feeling better. We also think of how they have been on the front lines for the last year during the pandemic. They have cared for millions of patients world wide with COVID added on top of their general duties. Their care and compassion hasn’t wavered even though they were tired and worn down. Yet, Nurse Beth Porch had more to say about the fighting on the front lines. She performed a timely, original song on Britain’s Got Talent in honor of healthcare staff like her. We would do well to make it our anthem in healing the sick and being the hands and feet of Jesus. Beth not only cared for ailing bodies, she is healing souls with her original song, ‘Everyday Heroes’. Who doesn’t get emotional when the song starts out with these lyrics: We are fighting this war on the front line We don’t have bullets or armor But we‘ve got prayers every night I haven’t seen my mom or my dad in a long time Staying lonely is the best way to fight And the world we know forever changed Is it any wonder she got a standing ovation? She came out on the stage with thick red, curly hair, glasses, coveralls and a baby pink t-shirt. And the moment she opened her mouth, the lyrical melody was enough to grab the hearts of everyone in the audience. Go ahead, take a listen to her song. And if you know someone fighting on the front lines, send up a prayer and send them this video. They will feel deeply appreciated! “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:9-10.

Roma Downey Shares The Stern Warning Della Reese Gave Her Future Husband

Roma Downey shared the stern warning that fellow actress Della Reese gave her future husband. Roma Downey is a Christian actress best known for the TV series, Touched by an Angel. The popular TV series aired from 1993 to 2003. Roma played the angel, Monica, in this drama, where she was sent to earth to show kindness to those who struggled. When Roma started the show, she met the most amazing woman who went on to become one of her closest friends, Della Reese. She said that in the show the two characters that the women played, actually reflected how their relationship was off set as well. One of the first things that she noticed about Della was her kindness towards everyone. ”When she would get called to the set, they would have to give her a fifteen minute warning, because she hugged everybody.” Roma shared on set with the TV show The Real. Roma shared, “She came in and she hugged everybody, it didn’t matter if you were the janitor, if you were the star, the director. She stopped, and she saw God in everybody.” Roma also shared her experience of when the two first met. “I remember when I first met her, I’m originally from Ireland, and I can still remember my parents teaching me to stick my hand out, to shake hands, to be polite.I remember the first day that I did that, and she just took her arms and gave me a giant hug.” One of the other things that Roma shared, while she remembered her friend who passed away, was the first time that Della met Roma’s future husband. “Now when she first met my husband, she took him in her arms, and I just thought they were hugging. She was whispering in his ear, she said to him ‘that’s my baby girl, and if you hurt her, I will have you killed.’” Della was obviously a great friend to Roma, and we hope this fond memory gave you a chuckle and brightened your day.

Southern Raised Bluegrass Band Performs 'Orange Blossom Special'

Southern Raised Bluegrass is taking us back with this live performance of ‘Orange Blossom Special.’ This favorite was originally released in 1938 and it has been covered by countless artists through the years including Johnny Cash and Charlie Daniels. “Look a-yonder comin' Comin' down that railroad track Hey, look a-yonder comin' Comin' down that railroad track It's the Orange Blossom Special Bringin' my baby back” Siblings Lindsay, Sarah, Emily and Matt make up the Southern Raised Bluegrass band. The group was raised in the Ozark Mountains and they have blended their traditional music upbringing with multiple genres and their deep-rooted faith. For years, they’ve entertained us with popular covers of songs such as ‘What A Day That Will Be’ and ‘Shenandoah.’ The group describes themselves as creating a ‘Southern Raised trademark sound where classical meets bluegrass and city streets meets country roads. SR has morphed a progressive sound that spans Christian Country/ Bluegrass, Celtic and Classical.’ Today, they are performing a live rendition of ‘Orange Blossom Special’ and it’s the perfect dose of nostalgia. “Well, I'm going down to Florida And get some sand in my shoes Or maybe Californy And get some sand in my shoes I'll ride that Orange Blossom Special And lose these New York blues” I never get tired of hearing a bluegrass song and it is such a blessing to hear the next generation continue this unique musical style. This was just the throwback song that my heart needed to hear today. Who else agrees?
