Cheeky Elephant Takes Hat Off Unsuspecting Tourist

It’s often said that an elephant never forgets. It is also true that you will never forget if an elephant ever plays a prank on you. Such is the case for this lucky European traveler who had her hat hidden during an encounter with one of these gentle giants. You may not already know it, but the phrase “an elephant never forgets” is actually not very far from the truth. Research has found elephants have the largest brain of any mammal on land, and all that brain certainly isn't going to waste. Elephants have proven to be one of the most intelligent animals on earth, able to recognize over 30 different individual elephants in their pack, as well as an ability to recognize any other creatures or places that left a significant impact on their lives. This high level of intelligence makes elephants both immensely social as well as very creative compared to most other animals. Research has also found that this intelligence allows elephants to be clever problem solvers as well as excellent communicators. Some of this cleverness and communication ability shines through in this elephant's funny little stunt with an unsuspecting tourist. Right off the bat, the elephant shows no indication of being afraid of the tourists standing around her and even seems to be somewhat interested instead. After one of the tourists walks over and begins to pose for a picture in front of the elephant, the elephant slowly and sneakily reaches her trunk out and gently picks the hat off of the woman’s head. The woman laughs and turns around to see the elephant quickly stuffing the hat in its mouth to hide it. Then the group of tourists giggled and the woman even exclaims, “My sister just got me that hat! Haha!”. The woman then turned around and politely asked the elephant, “Please may I have my hat back?” To which the gentle giant responded by pulling the hat back out of its mouth and returning it to the woman. But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind." Job 12:7-10

90-Year-Old Granny Stuns The Crowd With Swing Dance Routine

Check out this amazing 90-year-old granny’s swing dance routine and how she stuns the crowd with her impressive moves. The granny in the video is Jean Veloz, and she is a Hollywood swing dance legend. During this routine, she is dancing with a Lindy/Swing dance instructor at the FatCat Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona. “Jean Veloz stepped out onto the floor to wave and then ended up burning up the floor with some of the moves she did in films of the 1940's while dancing with international instructor Steve Conrad of the Arizona Lindy Hop Society,” reads the caption of the YouTube video. Watching Jean dance across the floor in this video is so captivating! She is so light on her feet! And the crowd is enjoying her performance so much while they are clapping along to the music. The song that Jean and Steve are dancing to is ‘I’m Beginning to See the Light.’ It is a popular song and jazz standard, with music written by Duke Ellington, Johnny Hodges, and Harry James and lyrics by Don George. The song was published in 1944. As Jean and Steve move around the room, it is so fun to watch Jean grooving to the music, swaying her hips back and forth, and spinning across the dance floor with ease! Jean was nominated in 1995 and inducted into the 'California Swing Dance Hall of Fame' in 1996 and can be seen doing her unique style of Lindy Hop in a few surviving films such as Swing Fever and the instructional and hilariously entertaining Pete Smith short, Groovie Movie.” We hope you enjoyed watching Jean cut a rug and her sweet dance moves brought a smile to your face!

Father-Daughter Duet To 'Remember Me' From Disney's Coco

Check out this wonderful father-daughter duet to the song ‘Remember Me’ from the Disney movie Coco. “Remember me, though I have to say goodbye, remember me, don't let it make you cry For even if I'm far away, I hold you in my heart, I sing a secret song to you Each night we are apart, remember me, though I have to travel far, remember me Each time you hear a sad guitar, know that I'm with you, the only way that I can be Until you're in my arms again, remember me” The father-daughter duo in this video are Mat and Savanna Shaw. And the guitarist that is playing next to them is Nick Petty. What a sweet video of this talented pair! Mat and Savanna have such amazing voices, and they sound so lovely singing together! In the caption of this video, Mat shares a bit of his heart and how he relates to the song ‘Remember Me’ and the movie Coco. “In some ways, the story of Coco mirrors mine and Savanna’s. I had to put my passion for music on hold while I started a family and worked to support them. I was happy to do it and found purpose and honor in it as my wife and I worked hard to ensure a better future for the generations that were to come after us,” he says. “This made me reflect on the many who came before us that worked so hard (often putting their passions and dreams on hold) to put us in a better position in life.” Then Mat talks about how his daughter rekindled his dreams of pursuing music. “Savanna’s dreams and passion for music thankfully brought me back to the dreams of my youth and returned me to something I love - performing music. I will forever be grateful to her for gifting me this opportunity to follow my dreams again,” he shares. “We can all agree that following our dreams and passions is sage advice but remembering those who paved the way for us and sacrificed so much along the way should never be overlooked. So, with gratitude, we dedicate our music to the many family and friends who have helped inspire us to be who we truly are today.” What touching words and what a wonderful song to sing with his daughter! We hope you enjoyed listening to this talented duo today!

Visually-Impaired Runner And 4th Grader Are Bonded By More Than Just A Rope

In a small town in Arkansas, a visually-impaired runner and 4th-grader are bonded by more than just a rope. Their friendship, based on trust and commitment, is proving that victory is found in trusting your fellow human. The duo of West Fork high school freshman, Paul Scott, and 4th-grade guide, Rebel Hays, began with 2-mile runs. It’s now grown to 5K races, demonstrating an admirable dedication to the joy of fitness and the gift of friendship. As the video says, “two boys are running their hearts out and they’re doing it together. All Rebel and Paul need are a short rope and race to run.” Paul is a high school freshman with a passion for cross-country running, because in Paul’s words, it “allows you to get out of your limits of your comfort zone.” But Paul’s visual impairment makes it unsafe for him to run without a guide. Still, he shares, “I don’t really have any limits, because I think anyone can do it.” Young Fast 4th-Grader Guides Cross-Country Teen Paul’s teammate, Rebel, though much younger and smaller, offers big support as Paul’s guide. Decked in a fluorescent running shirt emblazoned with the all-caps title ‘Guide Runner,” Rebel shares a handled tether between the two youth. Rebel physically charts the course ahead for Paul. Paul’s mom admits, “we’ve never had anyone who was younger than the runners. So my first reaction was, this kid’s tiny! Sorry, Rebel! But, then...I saw him run, and I was like, whoooaaa. He’s amazing.” In fact, Rebel earned the title “Fastest Kid in Fayetteville” for his age group. So he stepped up his goal...by responding to West Fork’s need for a running guide. Rebel had competed in a West Fork fun run and was excited to volunteer. Rebel’s mom, LouAnn Hays shares, “My son wanted to help, and wants to do it, and I’m like, oh my gosh. And the first time you ever see them, you cry. You cry. You do.” You see what she means when you watch this duo using just a rope to navigate a crowded course at full speed. On a shared Zoom call, Paul and Rebel’s moms confess that neither were sure if Rebel could guide a runner of Paul’s stature and speed. But they all agree that worry was short-lived, because in Paul’s mom’s words, Rebel is “always saying, c’mon Paul, run faster!” The bond between these boys goes so much farther than the short rope they share. Learning to count on each other to grow stronger has taught them both that going the distance for one another is the reward within any race. Their remarkable friendship has formed not only unbreakable trust, but a story that teaches us to give people a chance. It highlights the truth that helping feels great...and that having faith in one another can achieve what only seems impossible. “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…” Hebrews 12:1

14-Year-Old Boy Plays Violin Over Video Chat For Mom On Ventilator

As you watch this 14-year-old boy play violin over video chat for his mom on a ventilator, your eyes will well up with tears, and his music will stir your soul. Leaning toward the vision of his mother in a hospital bed in Texas fighting for her life on a ventilator, you can almost feel the depth of their connection and his care for her.. It’s been said that music is “hailed for its soothing abilities.” So, 14-year-old Emillian Sosa is picking up this banner of faith, over Zoom...that a touching melody will help his mom win her battle with COVID-19. The song he plays is the legendary “I Surrender All,” by Judson W. Van DeVenter, who wrote it as a personal testimony. Van DeVenter’s work is treasured by many, including the Rev. Billy Graham who gathered with other fellow students in Van DeVenter’s home in the 1930s for inspiration. Van DeVenter shares that for a long time, he “struggled between developing my talents in the field of art and going into full-time evangelistic work. At last the pivotal hour of my life came, and I surrendered all...God had hidden a song in my heart, and touching a tender chord, he caused me to sing.” More than 60 of Van DeVenter's powerful originals populate our 20th-century hymnals, but "I Surrender All" (1896) is his most famous. How moving that this beloved hymn is being played today from the heart of a young student of music. In a small kitchen sanctuary, he offers the gift of his violin music to uplift the mother he loves. As COVID-19 continues to create a world of unknowns, we can know one thing: caring for loved ones is a song we share, that can bring healing to us all. “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.” Psalm 40:3

Olivia Newton-John And Daughter Sing 'Window In The Wall' Duet

Listen to four-time Grammy award-winner Olivia Newton-John and her singer/songwriter daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, perform a lovely duet to the song 'Window In The Wall.' “Has this world forgotten how to love? Are we blinded by the hate we let inside? No one giving in or giving up, the lines are drawn and there’s no compromise This isn’t who we are, it’s time for us to start, looking for a window in the wall Maybe we can see the other side, and find we’re not so different after all Looking for a window in the wall” What a beautiful song sung by such talented women! ‘Window in the Wall’ was recently released by Olivia Newton-John and Chloe Lattanzi as an anthem aimed to unify and heal during these unprecedented times in the world. “I’ve always enjoyed singing duets more than singing on my own and when I first heard this song, I knew immediately that I wanted to sing it with my daughter Chloe,” shares Olivia Newton-John. “The lyrics and melody really resonated with me and I hoped Chloe would feel the same way – and luckily she did!” “When my mom played the song for me, I knew I wanted to record it. Not only because it was with my mom, but, I felt the lyrics and message might help people see things from another perspective,” Chloe Lattanzi says. “We are all part of the same human race and if we listen to each other, respect each other, and love each other - for both our likenesses and our differences - we might just understand each other a lot more.” This song does have such a strong message of hope and understanding, and it is wonderful to see this mother and daughter using their talents to spread such love and light.

A Cappella Performance Of Classic 'Unchained Melody' From VoicePlay

The a cappella men of VoicePlay take us back in time with this stunning rendition of ‘Unchained Melody.’ This love song was a hit for The Righteous Brothers back in 1965. The classic song was even inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame. “Oh, my love, my darling I've hungered for your touch A long, lonely time Time goes by so slowly” The four a cappella men of VoicePlay always manage to choose the perfect tune to showcase their talent and skill. Over the years, they have given us incredible covers of popular songs such as ‘True Colors’ and ‘Don’t Stop Believin.’ And this group is belting out every performance completely a cappella. That means that every single sound that you hear was created by the human voice. Today, they are joined by another incredible vocalist, John Pinto Jr. Just listen to their soul-filled performance of ‘Unchained Melody.’ “And time can do so much Are you still mine? I need your love I need your love God speed your love to me” It takes so much time and practice to perfect these arrangements, but the men of VoicePlay pulled it off flawlessly. From the look to the chilling melody, it is no wonder their videos are viewed thousands of times all across social media. These men certainly have a talent for performing and I am so glad that they are sharing their gifts with the world. Who else is looking forward to the next cover song from VoicePlay?
