Retirement Home Goes Viral For Amazing Drum Exercise Class

There are a number of fun things to do in senior living facilities, but this one retirement home stepped up their game with an amazing drum exercise class. Now, they’ve gone viral and they deserve every view. Green Country Village Senior Living facility is nestled in the city of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They posted a video late last month that now has upwards of 40 million views, 55 thousand comments, and over half a million shares. The video is all-around impressive, funny, and simply amazing. Each senior featured in this video appears to be engaged, along with the staff member leading. Everyone looks like they are enjoying themselves and best of all, they look so professional. Their exercise was not just a drum rhythm, they also used their feet to step to the music. They are very much on key and in sync with one another. The gentleman leading the drumming activity speaks loudly and is very engaged. The seniors appear to be channeling that energy. They engage in this activity for almost 2 minutes in the video. Of course, the video is just a showcase of what they learned, not the hours they put into practicing and rehearsing. One person said in a comment, “Love this and the song! Just because you’re old in years doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate current music. I don’t see anyone who seems to be objecting.” Another shared, “That is awesome! Respect to all our elders. We would be nothing without their experience and guidance.” Seeing the elderly engaged with modern music is appreciated, along with simply showing people they are still enjoying learning and performing. This video is beyond impressive. If only they could go and start their own band. They could even be called the Green Country Village Senior Drummers.

Andy Grammer Sings 'Don't Give Up On Me' Duet With Fan Fighting Cancer

Andy Grammer sings ‘Don’t Give Up on Me’ duet with a fan fighting cancer, and it’ll bring tears to your eyes! Celebrities are known to use their platform for their fans, especially those whose lives are different because of an illness. And Andy Grammer is no different. He was caught on camera singing, ‘Don’t Give Up On Me’ as a duet with a fan fighting cancer. As it turns out that day, Andy needed someone to sing with, and Isaac Rodriguez was the perfect kid to get up on stage. Why? Because little Isaac has been fighting brain cancer since 2018. This video captures parts of his journey and how Andy made a difference for him. It all started when Isaac discovered Andy’s new hit song. His mom and dad, Lynette and Jesse said he loved the song so much, he played it on repeat. He then became one of Andy’s biggest fans especially after the superstar paid a visit to kids in the cancer ward at the hospital. This visit gave him the boost he needed to keep fighting. When he discovered Andy’s song, his parents said, he connected with every word and it became his theme song. He wasn’t going to give up fighting and he didn’t want anyone else to give up on him too. Even up until his last dying breath, as the lyrics of the song say, Isaac is going to fight and asks that everyone keeps up the hope, faith, and belief that he will beat his brain tumor. His parents knew their son would need a reason to keep fighting his cancer. After a month of treatment, they took him to see Andy in concert. “I’ve met Isaac a couple of times now and he always amazes me. He has this quiet strength.” I met him at the hospital and then I met him at this meet and greet before I brought him on stage,” the singer said. Andy saw him in the crowd and did something no one expected. He invited this frail little boy to get up on stage and sing with him. He asked Isaac to be the guest of honor! “Who would be better to come and sing this song with me other than someone that as a kid is doing something that is heroic?” Andy said. What an incredible gift both Andy and Isaac gave each other. “There are heroes among us and Isaac is one of them,” Andy added. “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13

George Clooney Thinks He's The Perfect Person To Quarantine With

In a time when we are probably spending far more time indoors, the people whom we choose to share our homes with can have a big impact on how our quarantine time goes. A good quarantine buddy is super helpful for staying happy, safe, and social. Who would have thought, however, that the perfect person to quarantine with would be esteemed actor, George Clooney. In a recent interview promoting his latest film, “The Midnight Sky,” George Clooney gave his reasoning behind why he thinks he would be the ideal candidate to be a survival partner on a deserted island. In his reasoning, George cited skills like sewing and woodworking as some of the tools up his sleeve, and he stated that his many years as a broke bachelor taught him how to be scrappy, resourceful, and independent. When George and the rest of the cast and crew of “The Midnight Sky” finished shooting and began the editing process, the world was just starting to take the Covid-19 virus seriously, and things were changing in a big way. In order to adapt to the changing times, the editors of “The Midnight Sky” took measures throughout the movie to accentuate the feeling of not being able to physically be with one another, a feeling they believed would be very relatable for those watching in quarantine. Like many of us, the changes that quarantine brought with it gave George Clooney a new perspective on life. As he shared in this interview, George has adopted the mentality that we should live every day as if we might pass at any instant, and to suck every last bit of marrow out of life as possible. “If you wake up one day and realize you’re old, then you’ve probably lived a very full life.” "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command." John 15:12-13

Bullied Fighter Thought He Needed To Be The Toughest, Then He Surrendered To God

This bullied fighter thought he needed to be the toughest man on the block until he surrendered his life and strength to God. Robert grew up in the streets as an orphan. He figured as long as he had his bike so he could get to places, he would be okay. But a group of boys stole his bike and when he tried to get it back, he was powerless. They beat him badly, He then vowed to never be helpless again. In that moment of weakness dedicated his life to becoming a fighter. After the day when he was brutally beaten by a group of boys, Robert began to learn and master martial arts, kickboxing, and Karate. He excelled as a fighter. The more he trained, the more he wanted to be tougher, faster, and the strongest. But the stronger Robert became, the more he realized he felt even emptier on the inside. He recalls that no matter how much he trained, won fights, or meditated, he felt numb and weak. So, Robert started talking to his grandmother about how he felt. “I have a very, very religious grandma and she always said, “My center is Jesus. I wanted what she had. But I was completely far away from it. I was empty.” He added, “First, I felt ashamed and doubted that it would help to really pray to God like my grandma prayed to God.” Because Robert thought that her ways were ‘old ways’ and that’s what old people do, he didn’t take her seriously about Jesus. But he began to lose his passion for fighting, for life and he lost any motivation he had. He realized he was very strong but so very empty. He was sinking into darkness. The fighter had nothing left to lose. He was so broken and filled with so much pain, he began to pray fervently to Jesus. Then he realized his prayers brought warmth to his spirit like nothing else ever had. “My heart became fuller and fuller. It was like the sun that I wanted to feel every day and I couldn’t explain it to anyone around me.” It wasn’t what normally helps a person who is sad and upset like taking medications, talking to a therapist,t and he didn’t meditate in Buddhism. Instead, Robert really started talking to Jesus. In one moment of complete and total surrender, Robert gave his life to Christ and prayed the sinner's prayer. He realized in that moment as the Holy Spirit filled him, he could never save himself but Jesus could!! What an incredible moment. “I know Jesus is real because I can feel him. I have more light. I have more warmth. More stability, more strength, more confidence, more hope, more love,” he said. As Robert grew in his faith, he realized a joy continued to grow inside of him that gave him more strength than he ever had when he trained. It was a strength he never could have found in martial arts and meditation. Now he lives a life surrendered to Jesus. He knows he will never be powerless again, nor will he ever be empty again because the living God lives within him. What an incredible story of faith and strength. He was blessed to have his grandmother’s example because it saved his life. Robert now shares often that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life! “I know how to live humbly, and I know how to abound. I am accustomed to any and every situation—to being filled and being hungry, to having plenty and having need. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13.

Bird At Australia Zoo Helps Pull Off Surprise Proposal For Couple In The Crowd

Some guys don’t fuss over planning how to ask their girlfriend for her hand in marriage. But some men get creative and enlist unique help for a memorable proposal. A bird by the name of Euli at the Australia Zoo helped pull off a surprise proposal for a couple in the crowd. By the look on Erin Taylor’s face she was surprised and adored how her guy asked for her hand! We can probably imagine all the emotions going through the man’s mind and how nerve-wracking planning a wedding proposal might be. All that nervous energy sometimes makes it hard to decide the best way to propose, which may have been why Jesse opted to get help. Or maybe it was because Erin loves the zoo. But, Jesse didn’t get the traditional kind of help to make it special or memorable! He didn’t have a violinist to serenade the moment. He didn’t use the big screen at a basketball game. He took the love of his life to the zoo. You can tell by the look on her face, she thought it was just another ordinary day sealed with the sweet time spent with the love of her life. She’s dressed in overalls and a plain t-shirt and she’s excited about the bird exhibit. So, she sits down with her boyfriend to learn all about a rare bird named Euli. Except, the presenter needs help from the crowd to show what Euli is capable of. Erin excitedly jumps and waves her arms to get the presenter’s attention. The presenter then picks Erin to help out. All the while, Erin assumes she was randomly chosen to be a volunteer! Erin is asked to hold a $5 bill so the bird will know to which audience member to fly. The presenter then sent Euli back to Erin to deliver her ‘receipt.’ The bird swoops in and makes his delivery, and the presenter asks Erin to check and make sure the details are correct. As Erin reads the note, a look of shock spreads across her face and she turns to see her boyfriend Jesse on bended knee! Can you imagine all the planning that took? Jesse certainly planned one special moment they will be telling their kids and grandkids for years to come! "There are three things that amaze me—no, four things that I don't understand: how an eagle glides through the sky, how a snake slithers on a rock, how a ship navigates the ocean, how a man loves a woman." Proverbs 30:18-19

4 Men Perform Guitar Rendition Of 'Bohemian Rhapsody'

The 4 men of 40 Fingers leave us in awe with their instrumental rendition of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’ This iconic song was written by Freddie Mercury for Queen’s 1975 album, ‘A Night At The Opera.’ The song spent multiple weeks at the top of the music charts and has even been inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame. Decades later, many famous artists have lent their vocals to the tune which is a popular choice for covers and auditions. “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide No escape from reality Open your eyes Look up to the skies and see I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy Because I'm easy come, easy go A little high, little low Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me” 40 Fingers is a guitar quartet comprised of members Matteo Brenci, Emanuele Grafitti, Marco Steffè, Andrea Vittori. This talented group gained quite the following online by taking classic songs and giving them a unique, instrumental makeover. From hits such as ‘Back In Black’ and ‘The Sound Of Silence,’ 40 Fingers has fans all over the world ready to hear the band’s arrangements. Today, they are putting their own spin on ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ with this amazing, live performance. From the very first note, I was pulled into the familiar sound. But while some renditions will really pick up the pace, 40 Fingers kept the melody at the forefront and it truly made for an unforgettable performance. Even though we may be missing out on live concerts right now, this guitar quartet is still finding ways to connect with the audience. What an incredible gift and I’m definitely looking forward to their next song!

Woman Almost Misses Her Own Proposal During Disney Dance-Off

One woman makes a funny mistake - she almost misses her own proposal while dancing to a Disney song. The woman, Alodie Rodriguez-Mourier, was busy playing Just Dance with her six-year-old sister. Both were busting a move to Disney’s Frozen. Her boyfriend, Josmar, was busting his own move on one knee. He stood behind Alodie, very close, so close he could have touched her if he wanted. He bore a smile on his face and a ring in his hand. Still, she kept on dancing. She was completely unaware that the man of her life was ready to ask her one of life’s most important, but hardest questions. Josmar Taveras figured that at some point during the dance his girlfriend would turn and see him. That’s what he thought. There was no way she couldn’t, right? Not with him being so close. “We were super into it and it’s funny because I had no idea. I just, completely oblivious. I did not expect it,” Alodie said later. Alodie did in fact turn during the dancing, but her boyfriend, now fiancé, still went unnoticed. She didn’t spot a ring. Alodie and her sister did some movement that even required them to walk side to side. Josmar kept on watching gleefully and excitedly. He was anticipating the moment, but no matter how much Alodie changed up her dance moves, she only seemed focused on dancing. He even held the ring up to her back, maybe hoping she would see his reflection in the television. That was not the case. He had to fight back laughter because in watching the video she turns around more than once. Alodie’s sister Zoe said, “And she spin around twice and didn’t see him.” The little girl looks and sounds so funny calling out her big sis. Apparently, these two take Just Dance very seriously. Alodie added, “I can’t let my kid six-year-old sister beat me at “Let It Go” on Just Dance or we’re gonna have bigger problems.” “And I did,” Zoe cuts in. Hilarious! Josmar decided to wait for his girlfriend instead of interrupting her competition. She lost in the game, but she won in her relationship. After the dance-off, she turned and finally saw Josmar. Her mouth dropped. She sat on the floor and cried. The couple has not made any wedding plans yet, and we’re sure they’re enjoying this new season in their love story--probably set to the soundtrack from Frozen.

Friends High-Fived For 7 Years And This 'Silly Ritual' Helped Save One's Life

A duo of friends didn’t realize their routine of high-fiving would one day save one of their lives. On a weekly basis, two men, Gabe Scott and Andy Gullahorn, leave their respective homes and go for a walk. Mid-point during their walk they’ll encounter the reason for their weekly walkabout, each other. Specifically, they meet up to give one another a high five. Once that is done, they go their separate ways and head back home. Sounds interesting, right? Well, their interaction is a bit more involved than a simple high five. First, they clap their hands together, snap with one hand, and then high five each other. Their movement is choreographed like a dance routine, only they are not performing and they do their action and usually just keep walking. It’s a way that they’ve been able to show their support and celebrate their connection, even amid busy schedules. “Picking up the phone is great, but I’ve got a friend who literally will walk through the rain and the snow just to give me a high five. And I wish everybody could feel that feeling,” Andy shared. Both men are talented musicians in Nashville, Tennessee. The two enjoy performing together, and Andy even has his own website. Making their friendship more interesting, Andy keeps a record of his high five interactions with Gabe. He has what he calls a “High Five Journal” Something that makes this story even more intriguing is that this ritual between friends came to save one of their lives! Gabe suffered from encephalitis and was hospitalized. As he healed from the ordeal he also lost most of his memory. His friend, Andy, along with many of Gabe’s friends and loved ones, was now rendered nothing more than a stranger. Gabe was understandably feeling a little lost and downtrodden. But Gabe’s friendship with Andy, as well as their weekly ritual, would prove that all of Gabe’s memories were not lost. When Andy visited Gabe in the hospital, he asked for a high five before he left. Gabe didn’t remember Andy or why a high five was significant, but his body remembered! Not only did Gabe give Andy a high five, but to everyone’s surprise, he clapped, snapped, and then gave the high five! Gabe didn’t remember much, but from somewhere in the depths of his mind, this special memory surfaced and manifested itself as this special high five between friends. Imagine the hope that was restored once Gabe and his loved ones realized the potential of what could still be unlocked! Thankfully, since that time, Gabe has indeed begun to remember more of what was once lost. What is impressive about this story is the lengths these friends go to in order to see one another. Their high five routine began in an effort to see one another at least once a week. That is commitment and a true display of love for another. What fun and loving rituals can we bring into our own friendships? “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Proverbs 17:17 “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17
