Southside Baptist Church Sunday, February 8, 2015 - Evening Service Genesis 31
Summary: As we continue looking at the life of Jacob, we find him and his family fleeing from Laban, and we see how the entrance of sin and an inability to fully trust God complicates matters. Looking at Jacob and Rachel, we consider the idols in our own lives, and our struggles to give them up.
Southside Baptist Church Sunday, February 8, 2015 - Morning Service Revelation 3:7-13
Summary: Jesus writes to the church in Philadelphia, and he commends them for their faith and asks them to be watchful of the doors He is opening before them. We look at this church and consider why they are given these opportunities, and our responsibilities as the people of God.
Here on earth we are in a battle... And the goal is salvation for our soul. Miracles on top of miracles... But what are you going to do when the miracle comes your way? Do we continue to give thanks to the Lord, or do you forget who gave you the miracle? You have grown comfortable. When God gives it to you make use of the miracle. Don't be to busy for God... Just because God has given you a miracle doesn't mean that the enemy will leave you alone or give up.... The enemy is not going to stop because you have been Blessed by God. Curses are coming for disobedient people. Sin can't out smart God. God fights our Spiritual warfare for us.... You have to continue to do what God has given to you. We are trying to do things ourselves instead of continuing to use what God has given to you... God has given you life, so He has plans for your life. You have to keep seeking God to find out the plans that he has for your life.... The word of God should mean so much more in your life, than the miracles that you receive. When things don't go your way you cast blame on others instead of casting blame on yourself. God can turn it around when you keep trusting Him.
1. God will give you miracles in your life.
2. Don't be shocked at what God can / will do for you.
3. Never fight for position in life.
Deuteronomy 28:63 And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you
How often do you fast? What are the reasons you fast? Fasting is a way of saying “yes” to God’s invitation to draw near the Him! Fasting can help bring clarity in decisions and priorities. God’s healing and power are released in our lives as we fast!
Jesus is the life! Are you experiencing the life or just living? What does it mean to really live? Are you settling for less than what God is offering you?
