Pastor MacLaren continues his series of sermons in the book of Acts speaking on a critical question: What is necessary for our salvation? A dispute on this arose within the early church and was settled by the united witness of the great apostles and elders of the church. Watch as Pastor MacLaren shows what conclusions the church came to, which would go directly against much of what modern Christianity would recognize today. This sermon is based on Acts 15:1-12 was delivered at First Presbyterian Church of Perkasie, Pennsylvania (USA) on October 5, 2014. First Church is a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The Rev. R. Scott MacLaren is the pastor.
What is God's expectation of us? That we should work toward that perfection which God expects of us, as well as grow in thankfulness to God who has perfected us through the gift of Christ Jesus.
The issue of authority is the main idea in today's lesson. This battle for authority rages in the hearts and minds of every Christian and lasts until our earthly life ends.
Those who are ill in spirit are invited to eat and drink with Jesus , an invitation to "follow me" and do as Jesus would do. If we so choose to do this, the way we act, think, and the way we look at others will not stay the same. Mercy will live in our hearts forever.
May Jesus our High Priest and King bless you today! I am sharing a message with you about the importance of the blood of Jesus because the blood of Jesus is our most precious blessing, because without the shed blood of Jesus we would have no redemption, no salavtion, no eternal life, no adoption as sons or daughters of God, no eternal inheritance, no peace and no joy and no hope, no place in Heaven, nothing good at all. Thank God for the blood! I love to hear and speak about the blood. Knowing these truth made all the difference in my life. I am sharing some rejoicing and enjoyable words on this topic with you. You are blessed! You are much loved, greatly loved.
