In celebration of America's 250th Anniversary - and wanting to encourage every American to rediscover our foundation - Christians Engaged is proud to present - America Reads the Bible - a national Scripture-reading event and movement beginning on Saturday, April 18, 2026 and running through Saturday, April 25, 2026.  Over 475 leaders from all spheres of influence will gather in Washington, D.C. to read the entire Bible aloud.

This week long Special Event begins with an Opening Celebration on April 18, with the week long reading of the Bible beginning on Sunday, April 19.  99.5 KKLA and 98.3 FM The Word will broadcast the Opening Ceremonies with a Special one and half hour program on Sunday, April 19 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

The opening ceremony of the “America Reads the Bible” event marks the beginning of a historic celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Broadcast live from the Museum of the Bible, this special gathering brings together national leaders and everyday Americans in a continuous public reading of Scripture—from Genesis to Revelation. This shared moment of reflection highlights the role of faith in the nation’s story and invites participants across the country to engage in a unifying and meaningful experience.
